While staying with my grandparents in Manila, I attended the GK Hope Ball at the Manila Peninsula. Wearing a black number by veteran fashion designer JC Buendia, I also took part in the charity fashion show. Through ticket sales, donations, raffles and an auction, the annual GK Hope Ball raises millions of pesos to help rebuild slums throughout the Philippines. To date, GK has rebuilt thousands of slum homes, and its mission to end poverty for 5 million families by 2024, is on track.
I am a proud supporter of Gawad Kalinga (GK) and my humanitarian efforts were very much inspired by the work of founding father Toni Meloto and his GK organisation.
