My beauty cabinet was full of harmful chemicals - ones I could have cleaned the toilet bowl with - until I discovered Human Nature toxin-free cosmetics. Initially, I was attracted to the 100% Philippine brand - a social enterprise directed towards improving the lives of poor farming communities in the country of my birth. I soon learned how ingredients found in everyday cosmetics are potentially damaging to our health and linked to various cancers. From lipsticks to lotions, a toxic mixture of unpronounceable synthetic chemicals is churned into cosmetics, the same found in daily household cleaning products we keep under the sink! The effects of these ingredients are more than just skin deep.
I have since been appointed as Human Nature Global Ambassador and my duties have taken me far and wide. A trip to the Philippines for Human Nature's first GLOBAL SUMMIT and the launch of their mineral make-up, proved most successful. It was a non-stop packed 2 weeks of interviews, photoshoots, press conferences, a global summit, a glamorous ball and a GK outdoor event attended by 20,000 people where I graced the stage in the presence of President Benigno Aquino of the Philippines! Aside from all the glitz, I enjoyed visiting many slums as well as GK villages (re-built slums) and organized a feeding programme with entertainment for over 100 lovely welcoming children at the building site of Airlift Asia Inc/GK Village in Paranaque, Manila.
